Miriam Falk, Assistant Attorney General at the Wisconsin Department of Justice, has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Lawyers for dedication, achievements, and leadership in criminal justice, family law and legal services.

After more than two years of work in private practice, Ms. Falk became involved with the district attorney’s office in the sensitive crimes unit. This position was a marriage of her skills and areas of interest, and she has excelled in her position. She became an assistant district attorney in 1987 and remained in this role until 2014, where she then moved into the role of assistant attorney general. Ms. Falk is a member of the criminal justice division, the State Bar of Wisconsin, and the International Law Enforcement Educators and Trainers Association.

Ms. Falk attributes her success to the passion she exhibits for issues faced by women and children. She has worked hard to research them extensively and she is committed to doing to best work that she can, recognizing that these issues are so important that they demand a high level of commitment from anybody that is doing it. She prepared for this career by first earning a Bachelor of Arts in psychology from Marquette University, magna cum laude, in 1982. She continued her education at the University of Wisconsin-Madison, receiving a JD in 1985.

Ms. Falk has received several awards and accolades for her success and hard work. In 2012, she was an honoree of the Assistant District Attorney of the Year from the Wisconsin District Attorney Association. That same year, she received the Voices of Courage Criminal Justice Award. In 2010, Ms. Falk was recognized as a Woman of the Year in the state of Wisconsin. She has also been noted with distinction with the June M. Dobbs Award from the Children’s for Outstanding Contributions to the Welfare of Children Hospital of Wisconsin and as a Super Lawyer.
