John Fredric Staley, Chief Executive Officer at Staley Jobson, has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Lawyers for dedication, achievements, and leadership in family law.

Mr. Staley has amassed more than 45 years of professional excellence in his areas of expertise as the founding partner of Staley Jobson since 1972. In this position, he specializes in divorce, property division, business division, child custody, child support, and spousal support. Alongside his primary endeavors, he was the director and shareholder of Michael’s Premier Roses from 1993 to 2000, a member of Public Offerings, Mergers, and Acquisitions from 1989 to 1999, a member of various audit and compensation committees from 1989 to 1999, and a delegate to the U.S.-China Joint Conference on Law in 1987. Locally, he served as a member and vice mayor of the Livermore City Council from 1975 to 1982, as well as a member of the board of directors of the Alameda County Training and Employment Board and the Alameda-Contra Costa Emergency Medical Services Agency.

To prepare for his career, Mr. Staley pursued an education at Fresno State College, earning a Bachelor of Arts in history in 1965. He subsequently attended California State University from 1967 to 1968, completing postgraduate coursework. A former U.S. government management intern with the Department of Commerce at the United Nations Food and Agricultural Organization from 1968 to 1969, he earned a Doctor of Jurisprudence from the University of California, San Francisco, in 1972. He also completed coursework at Hastings College of the Law in 1974. Mr. Staley is admitted to practice law in the state of California and is a certified specialist in family law.

A leading voice in his fields of interest, Mr. Staley maintains affiliation with several organizations, including the Association of Certified Family Law Specialists (ACFLS), where he served as president from 1988 to 1989. In addition, he remains a member of the American Bar Association, the State Bar of California, and the Alameda County Bar Association. Mr. Staley has further been a panelist and speaker on family law at several conferences by the American Academy of Matrimonial Lawyers (AAML) and ACFLS. He coauthored a book titled “California Child Custody Litigation Practice,” published in 2006.

In recognition of his exceptional contributions to family law, Mr. Staley was elected a fellow of AAML and inducted into the ACFLS Hall of Fame in 1994. In addition, he has maintained an AV Peer Review Rating through Martindale Hubbell and was considered among the Best Lawyers in America in 2014. Notably, he has been named a Northern California Super Lawyer since 2006. Mr. Staley was selected for inclusion in several editions of Who’s Who in Finance and Industry, Who’s Who in America, Who’s Who in American Law, Who’s Who in the West, and Who’s Who in the World.
