Prior to this illustrious role, he served as partner at multiple law firms, including Brinks, Hofer, Gilson & Lione Ltd.; Niro, Jager & Scavone; Lee, Smith & Jager; and Hume, Clement, Brinks, William & Olds Ltd. He commenced his career as an associate with Iron, Birch, Swindler & McKie in 1962.

The recipient of a Bachelor of Science in mechanical engineering and a Doctor of Jurisprudence from the University of Illinois, Mr. Jager was admitted to practice law in Illinois and the District of Columbia. Throughout his career, he has contributed myriad articles to peer-reviewed journals and chapters to books, often presenting his research at conferences and seminars. The contributing author of “Sorting out the Ownership Rights in Intellectual Property: A Practical Guide to Practical Counseling and Legal Representation” in 1980, he additionally edited “Trade Secrets throughout the World.”

In recognition of his outstanding contributions to the legal industry, Mr. Jager was honored with a Gold Medal for contributions to the licensing profession by the Licensing Executive Society International in 2007, which he cites as a highlight of his career. He previously served the society as president in the 1990s. He has further been featured in Who’s Who in America, Who’s Who in American Law, Who’s Who in the Midwest and Who’s Who in the World.
