Sylvester Beozzo, retired partner at Marcus and Shapira, LLP, has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Lawyers for dedication, achievements, and leadership in law.
With 40 years of professional experience, Mr. Beozzo retired in 2017, having been a partner with Marcus and Shapira, LLP since 1988. Prior to obtaining this role, he was an associate with Fricker and Associates from 1985 to 1988 and with Belsky and Akman, PC from 1984 to 1985. Earlier in his career, he was an associate with Cooper, Lepore and Dreeland from 1978 to 1984 and a staff attorney with Southwestern Pennsylvania Legal Aid Society from 1977 to 1978.
Mr. Beozzo began his career as a student at the University of Scranton, completing coursework from 1970 to 1972. He then joined Pennsylvania State University, obtaining a Bachelor of Arts in social welfare and sociology, magna cum laude, in 1974. He continued his studies with the University of Pittsburgh, earning a Juris Doctor in 1977. Mr. Beozzo has been admitted to practice in the state of Pennsylvania, as well as before the Untied states District Court for the Western District of Pennsylvania. The highlight of Mr. Beozzo’s career was being in charge of a litigation for a client who was the 50th largest privately owned company in the united states. He was the head of their workers compensation litigation for 29 years, which was one of the most gratifying achievements of his career. As a result of that relationship he was able to pursue many novel ideas in the field of workers compensation.
