Edwin Robertson, Retired Senior Counsel at Cadwalader, Wickersham & Taft, has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Lawyers for dedication, achievements, and leadership in litigation.

An expert in litigation, Mr. Robertson began his career as a student at the University of Virginia and earned a Bachelor of Arts with honors in 1968. Soon thereafter, he concluded his studies with a Bachelor of Laws from the renowned institution in 1971. Furthermore, he was admitted to practice law in the State of New York, the United States Court of Appeals for the 2nd Circuit, the United States District Court for the Eastern District of New York, the United States District Court for the Southern District of New York, the United States Supreme Court, and the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Michigan.

Throughout his 46-year career, he worked with Cadwalader, Wickersham, and Taft, holding the posts of an associate, partner and senior counsel until his retirement in 2017. The highlight of Mr. Robertson’s career was representing a half dozen widows, whose husbands were killed during the September 11th attacks. He was proud to have assisted families in receiving compensation to make their lives a little easier from a financial standpoint. A retired veteran, he served in the United States Air Force as a 1st Lieutenant from 1971 until his honorable discharge the following year. An active member of his community, Mr. Robertson contributed as a member of the board of directors for the Early Music Foundation of New York City from 1983 to 1999 and as president of the Disciplinary Board for the Episcopal Diocese of New York for seven years. Additionally, he participated with the New York State Independent Judicial Screen Commission for the 1st Judicial District from 2007 to 2015.

In an effort to remain aware of changes in the legal field, he maintains affiliation with the American Bar Association, National Conference Bar Presidents, the Federal Bar Council, the New York County Lawyers Association, the New York State Bar Association, and the Association of the Bar of the City of New York. A respected voice in the industry, Mr. Robertson’s written works include “Brethren and Sisters of the Bar,” and “Kassoff on Elder Law and Guardianship.” For his accomplishments in the field, he has received the Servant of Justice Award in 2014. Likewise, he has been selected for inclusion in editions of Who’s Who in Finance and Business, Who’s Who in Finance and Industry, Who’s Who in America, Who’s Who in American Law, Who’s Who in the East, and Who’s Who in the World.
